Price higher than typical on manufacturer's listing of own product

I'm a new seller on Amazon. I'm selling my own rice mix product (I'm the manufacturer) and I'm the only seller on Amazon. I also sell it on my website but only in GBP but for more expensive than it is on Amazon.

My product has 2 flavors, and come in a 1 pack, 6 pack and 12 pack. The 6 pack of one of the flavors has "Price higher than typical" warning on my product page. I have no idea why Amazon thinks that's the case. I only sell the 1 pack and 12 pack on my website and those are more expensive than it is on Amazon. Also, the 12 pack on my website is more than 2x more expensive than the 6 pack on Amazon while the single on my website is more than 1/6th the price of the 6 pack on Amazon. Basically, it makes no sense that Amazon thinks the 6 pack is being sold for a higher price than typical. Maybe Amazon is comparing the 6 pack cost to the 1 pack cost on my website.

I've opened a case but as usual, Amazon is slow to respond. Can someone please help me here? Case number is 16316552751.

Thanks!

When you see this, you know the manufacturer is doing the right thing. Manufacturer make their profit by making the product. They want it sold fast, so they sell the product wholesale in large quantities.

They want retailers like you to sell it to the public. When a manufacturer starts selling to the public at the wholesale price, usually it is the beginning of the company's demise. The reason being that retailers like you will stop buying from them because there is no profit to be made anymore.

When the manufacturer does display their own product and displays it at an above retail price, it is done for advertising, not really sales to the public. This encourages potential buyers to purchase from retailers like you, not the manufacturer.

Be aware that Amazon can and does use a 6, 12, etc. pack for comparison to the single. It is their excuse to slap a "competitive price" on the single and get you to raise price on other platforms.

In a nutshell you will lose all sales on Amazon if the item is priced lower (even as a multiple as in your multi-packs) on other platforms. Unfortunately the only choicve its to raise the price off of Amazon if you want the buy box (and sales on Amazon) back.

Its called price fixing and yes it is illegal, but Amazon thinks they are clever in this regard for some reason.

Hi there @Seller_EVNMRfgRa7PO2,

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. At this time the Seller Support team in your case is appealing on your behalf that the price is accurate. At this time I would recommend that you wait for a response in your case. If the case closes without resolution I can see what I can do to escalate. Thank you for your understanding.

The 6 pack of one of the flavors has "Price higher than typical" warning on my product page.

Sometimes this happens when the weight is not correct, amazons system needs to be told you are including 6 oz ( As an example ) instead of charging 6x as much for 1 oz
