Auto Authorized FBM Returns: How long should it take to receive the return from customer

Hi all.

New seller here. Just started my journey earlier this month.

My question is how long does it normally take to receive a FBM return that has been auto Authorized and tracking shows it was picked up by carrier. I'm a bit anxious and don't want put a negative on my account for late refunds.

As you can see with the example below . its been 4 days and yet no update. is it normal to see no movement?

"Picked up by Carrier" is a spurious status that shows up on Amazon as soon as a label is created. Even if the customer never ships the item back, this status will always show.

It is quite normal, and I suspect especially so during the crazy holiday season, to see a delay between approval of a return, and the customer actually getting around to returning it. If you are lucky, they will forget all about it, and you'll never be out the money.

Regardless, it is totally out of your hands. it is all up to the customer to complete the process; if they don't, it has no negative repercussions on you.
