Why does Amazon reccomend ABE8 for faster shipments?

How up to date are Amazons warehouse recommendations? I have a non Christmas pallet waiting since January 10, 2024 to be checked in and will not be until 02/22/2024. Yes if I create a new shipment it will still recommend ABE8 over other regional warehouses. Even with the FBA fee rebate it is still cheaper to send to the west coast AND they have better receiving times than ABE8

ABE8 is a transshipment node not far from Philadelphia. Items delivered there (usually from the U.S. northeast) get farmed out to standalone FCs all over the country.

I don't ship pallets. But I have shipped many cartons to ABE8 over the years, and while I have sometimes had issues related to received cartons marked as missing inventory at ABE8, there has never been a three week wait to get checked in. This is almost always using UPS, either purchased through Seller Central or my own UPS account.

Hi @Seller_1gSICfZynDifC, it looks like you got a great reply above but I'll just note that timelines will often shift based on seasonality, so while it's been 2 weeks for the shipment you sent at this point that doesn't mean that it will be extended for the next one as sites work through inbound queues and other factors. When you say 2/22, is that just the date your shipment is eligible for investigation? If so, I'll also note that doesn't mean that it will take until then to be received.
