What to sell?
I am a newbie. I have an individual account. How do i check what products i can sell straight away and the ones amazon saying not accepting applications to sell? Will these open eventually. For listing a product under Online or Retail arbitrage, do i need VAT invoice to upload fr amazon approval?

Before you begin, go and read Amazon's Seller University - everything you need to know is there. Just type it into the search box at the top of the page.
Do you actually have an Individual ACCOUNT, or do you mean the individual selling plan where you have not paid the £30 monthly fee. They are different things. The Individual ACCOUNT (the legal entity) is ONLY for selling off your own personal second-hand items such as books, DVDs, CDs etc. If you intend to buy good to sell on for profit, then you must have a BUSINESS seller account and be registered with HMRC as self-employed (probably sole-trader)) If you haven't done that already then that is your first thing to do.

Use the Amazon Seller Central app on your phone. You can scan the barcode and it'll tell you whether it is gated.
As for whether they will ungate on their own, well some will as you build a sales history, others will likely always require proof of a valid supply chain.

Just to add, retail/online arbitrage is really not the get rich quick scheme that some youtubers would have you believe. I personally don't think it's a particularly good business model for Amazon full stop but each to their own.

I also think you should go through the seller university, it is a phenomenal resource.
Make sure you have the rights to sell the products you want to, jumping onto listings just because you have a product that looks similar to the one pictured is the easiest way to have your account suspended, as long as you have a barcoded product and a vat invoice from the manufacturer, then you should be ok, running down to your local pound shop and listing everything they sell and then selling at a higher price isn't a good business model and will, at some point get you suspended for one violation or the other.
Stay away from products branded to other sellers, they will infringe you and have your account health impacted
First of all do your own research and educate yourself with the seller university.
