New variation family

So I have parent ASIN B0CN5CR513 which has 1 variation of material and the 2 child ASINS of B0CN53LBH3 and B0CN53MSDY which is for Elastic and Nylon.

Due to some feedback I am now looking to sell the product in a smaller size so need to add a size variation to this listing.

It will not allow me to add a new variation to the parent ASIN and I have been back and forth with Amazon support and am still unsure on what to do.

I am being told that I can delete My ASINs, then create a new Parent with the 2 variations that I need. When I then create new listings for each of the variations, Amazon are saying that all of my reviews etc will come back to the listing.

I am so confused with this. Everywhere else it says that if I were to delete an ASIN, it will delete it including all reviews etc and there would be no way to get them back.

Please can someone help with advice on how to simply add a new variation to my listing without losing any of my reviews etc?

So just an update on this one already. I contacted Amazon support via live chat after reading another forum post and they were able to dissociate the child ASINs from the parent.

I am told that I will now be able to create a new parent ASIN with the 2 variations that I need, and then add my 2 existing child ASINs to the new parent as well as adding the new variant.

I am told to wait 24 hours for the changes to take effect so I will wait and try to create the new parent etc.

I will give another update as to if this works or not as I am sure there will be others out there with this issue.
