SKU error on my first shipment to Amazon FBA

Hi everyone,

I'm a first-time seller on Amazon, and I created a parent listing with 4 child listings attached to it. When I created my first shipment for the first child listing, everything went smoothly. However, a few minutes later, when I tried to create shipments for the other 3 listings, I encountered the same error:

"This SKU is already being used for another product. Please create a new offer with a new SKU to use the manufacturer barcode."

My understanding is that, for some reason, these 3 child listings with errors have 2 ASINs per SKU.

First question: Is there a way to delete or remove one of these double ASINs?

Secondly, if I have to recreate a new SKU for each of these 'error SKUs,' will that affect the Amazon barcode that I've already attached to my products?

Thank you in advance for your help. :)

Each child listing should have its own ASIN. If you have two SKUs tied to the same ASIN, then you have two offers for the same product, so you can delete one of them.

If you are labeling your product with FNSKUs/Amazon barcodes, then it is tied to the SKU, so if you use a new SKU, the FNSKU will change, which means you would need to relabel.

Just wanted to provide an update.

The Amazon Support has been incredibly helpful! Thank you, guys!

It took them a few days to understand my problem. Initially, Amazon Support requested a 'remap of the 3 wrong ASINs' (double ASINs or Ghost ASINs, call them what you want) to their engineers, but their first attempt only corrected one of the 3 wrong SKUs. So, I had to email them a second time, and they finally resolved the problem. The 3 'double ASINs' have been removed, and I was finally able to ship my products.

The whole correction process took about a week.

If someone faces the same issue, I suggest attaching 2 screenshots when writing to Amazon Support: one screenshot of the Manage Inventory list showing your products with the SKU and ASIN, and another screenshot from the Inventory/Shipments and Shipment/Send to Amazon list, likely showing the same product but with a second ASIN (which messes up the whole shipping process).

Remember to stay calm and patient with Amazon Support; they are doing a commendable job. Part of the resolution will come from the way you address the problem with them. Be kind and precise in your email.

I hope this post will be helpful.

:)
