Turning off ad campaigns in other countries

I have been selling in the US and have an ad campaign running for that. Sometime between the time I started and now, Amazon forced us to be part of the North America "Region" so my product is now listed in Canada, and Mexico. Fine. But now it appears that I am getting charged for ad campaigns in the US, Canada, and Mexico. I do not want to advertise in Canada and Mexico. Has anyone else encountered this and have figured it out?

We were told by seller support that if you put your store listing for other countries (Mexico and Canada) on "Vacation mode," and make sure to NOT include any of your products on their inventory platform, it would protect you from getting an sales in those countries. They said to "delete" any listings, but when I looked, it appears that everything is ok in that regard, as they dont autocopy ANY of our listings over to other countries marketplaces. You would have to do it manually for your inventory to show up there. So when I looked up Mexico, for example, there were no listings, which is the way I want it kept. We do not ship internationally, due to exhorbitant shipping cost and potential tax liability. So like you and hundreds of other sellers, we didnt want to expand our business to Mexico, Canada, or any other country and these new marketplaces were set up against our wishes, despite us opting out of this option 3 months ago. My business is very small and I want to keep it simple, and US based. I can barely keep up with what I have now. - Point being, if your inventory is not copied over to those other marketplaces, your products are not listed there, and therefore do not incur advertising charges.
