return fraud

I cannot understand how photographic evidence of return fraud is denied by Amazon in their Safe-T-Claim process. I even gave the ASIN the customer returned (spoiler alert- it was not ours).

I guess I am not surprised that Amazon's customers are doing this- no difference than allowing shoplifting. Except, we, as amazon merchants, get to pay for the return label so that we can be defrauded. Welcome to the new economy.

I don't have a solution for Amazon allowing theft and fraud BUT if this was shipped using the USPS please report the issue to the Postal Inspectors as mail fraud.

ALSO the Government has a site IC3 (Amazon will remove the link if I put it here) where you can report the use of the internet for theft if it was UPS, FedEx or whatever. It is generally used to report on websites but it can be used to report buyers as well if you happen to encounter one of the Amazon scam crowd.

In both cases it at least puts the con artists into a data base for future reference by the authorities.

There's an OLD saying -- If you aren't part of the solution you are part of the problem.

PLEASE REPORT, REPORT, REPORT, REPORT.

Any moderator on this thread? How can photographic proof of fraud be denied?

I don't understand how Amazon can issue press releases that it prevents fraud and then inexplicably allow customers to defraud amazon vendors.

Here is what Amazon feels is insufficient evidence. Correct contents are on the left, fraud on the right. Amazon sells the stuff on the right too and, seemingly, Amazon unable or unwilling to check the customer to verify that they purchased the ASIN on the right. Customer pays +/- $13 for the right side and gets a $43 refund for my inventory and screws me. I wonder if I should quote the Amazon official cited in the Wall Street Journal talking about how diligent Amazon is in pursuing return fraud? I wonder what that exec would think?
