Can't add new product listing - request approval

When trying to add a new product listing I keep getting the "request approval" error message for both routes:

1. Copy an existing listing.

2. Catalog > Add Product > search for my listing, and add new.

Spoke to customer support in chat, and then on the phone. Was told that I would be transferred to the Brand department, and then the call ended.

At a loss on how to add new listings.

"When trying to add a new product listing I keep getting the "request approval" error message for both routes:"

Do YOU own the brand? If not ask yourself these questions-

DO YOU have an LOA from the brand allowing you to sell on here?

DID YOU source from AUTHORIZED wholesale sources that your rep at the brand says are OK? You DO have a sales rep at the brand, don't you?

Hello @Seller_ts6E81aedv9I5,

I'm sorry you're having trouble listing your product. Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. As the Amazon catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations on which products should be restricted, which is based on a number of factors. Amazon does this to ensure authenticity and customer satisfaction. For this reason, you may be required to gain approval to sell certain products. In most situations, a direct invoice from the manufacturer is required.

A letter of authorization (LOA) can also be a valuable addition in these situations if you’re sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.

You will find more details about this using the resources below:

Products that require approval

Invoice requirements for when you apply to sell

Guidelines to source products to sell on Amazon

Regards,

- Manny

This BS does not seem to concern other book selling platforms. I don't buy large numbers of this book directly from the publisher with reams of forms and receipts-I find copies one at a time at private sales. This is something that seems to have cropped up in the last year as part of 'Improvements' to the site-but for whom?-NOT the majority of sellers on this site.
