Amazon and Manufacturer Barcodes

I want to check whether my ASINs have manufacturer barcodes or Amazon barcodes currently on them. How can we identify what barcode is being currently used or if there is a bulk report to know it for all ASINs?

I know the FNSKU (Amazon barcode) starts with X0****** but can Amazon barcode be ASIN also?

Hi @Seller_5XpaubogCEHOA,

Thank you for the thread!

Please note that there are three kinds of barcodes for identifying products:

  • Manufacturer barcodes (eligible barcodes include UPC, EAN, JAN, and ISBN)
  • Amazon barcodes (such as FNSKU labels that start with an X)
  • Transparency authenticity code (brand owner only, may be required to help prevent counterfeit)

By default, we use the manufacturer barcode to track eligible inventory throughout the fulfillment process, unless you change your barcode setting or your product is not eligible.

I would recommend looking at your account to see which barcode preference you currently have selected. To do this, please go to Fulfillment by Amazon settings then scroll down to FBA product barcode preference.

For more information and best practices for product barcodes, I'd encourage you to read through these help pages:

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

All the best,

Jameson
