So amazon just mislead me by letting my campaign budget exceed by about 100% despite a budget cap
So my campaign limit for one of my ad campaigns was 100 dollars. daily limit i.e. just to be clear, I set the daily budget limit to '100 dollars' with no dynamic bidding or no budget rules nothing. just 100 dollars. as soon as that is reached, stop.
And a few hours later, that campaign has gone upto 204 dollars. weird. so I get in touch with the help team from amazon to find out whats going on. the guy proceeds to waffle about how its an average over a month and not a daily budget limit. So essentially my budget is 100x30 = 3000 dollars so i wont exceed that he assured me.
Okay. So why on earth do you write daily budget then? if its an average? why are you intentionally misleading people by saying 'daily budget' instead of 'daily budget averaged over a month'. What about small business sellers like me who dont want to run month long campaigns and have week long campaigns. So if i want to run a campaign for a week, the daily budget is still averaged over a month?
This is such a big error by amazon how can you write 'DAILY BUDGET' then say oops its not actually daily its average over a month. What a terrible way to mislead your sellers into spending more money.
Even if this utterly ridiculous average logic exists then atleast put it somewhere where its readily visible and readable or like a warning. NOT buried in your help section.
Terrible experience. I'm sure there are grounds for some kind of action here. If its written daily budget, im pretty sure it means budget per day and not daily budget per day averaged over a month. i mean english is my second language but i still think i have this right.

Hello @Seller_WEiBxiIacCcto,
I'm sorry to read this was a terrible experience. Similar to what you mentioned, your daily budget is averaged out over the course of a calendar month, meaning you could spend less than or more than your average daily budget, on any given day. However, by the end of the month, you will not spend more than your daily budget. This is intended to be a benefit because it allows high performing ads to have extra run time in order to gather the most impressions possible. However, if you feel there is a discrepancy on your invoice, please do open a ticket with Ads Support- they will review your invoice with you and can open your ads account and take a further look. Also, if you have a case you feel needs additional assistance, please do shoot that my way and I may review.
Kindest regards,
