"This product is not part of a variation"
I have a product listing (no other sellers) that I want to add a color variation to. It's a pet product, so I know variations are allowed.
When I try to edit the existing listing, and go to the variations tab, there's a message underneath that says, "This product is not part of a variation."
There are no options to add a variation.
This is my first time adding a variation, so maybe I don't know what I'm doing.

You need to create a Parent listing with a Color variation theme. (it's sort of a virtual one).
Then you make your existing listing a child of that parent, and add other colors skus as new children.
Search for creating a variation family.

You can learn how to create Variations via the Variation Wizard and once a Variation Parent exists you should be able to edit variations via the variations tab. Thank you for your understanding.
