Book selling
Hello, After many years of selling secondhand books on Amazon I am now getting the message
You need approval to sell:
Books in New, Used, Refurbished, Collectible condition(s)
What can I do to sort this out, as it is quite urgent no new listings since 23rd Feb, .com used to be a good selling platform for me
if Amazon is looking please help
Thankyou

Are you getting any option to Apply for Approval (usually a yellow button)?
If so, what happens when you apply? I've seen this hundreds of times, and usually get an instant approval; some times have to watch a short video and answer a few "I'm not a moron" type questions. But rarely totally locked out of listing a book.

Good Afternoon @Seller_zQYEhPptUDHAN,
As @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw mentioned, it looks like you need to reapply again. Selling Partner Support wrote back to you on CASE ID ending in 3971 recommending the same guidance and providing some additional information. Please review the CASE ID ending in 3971 and follow up on the case or with us if you have any outstanding questions regarding the outcome of the case.
Take care. Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

I bet there was an issue with old listings that have been deleted from the catalog. Do you remove your listings after your inventory has sold out? You stated that you would have to dig through over 14,000 listings. I would bet many do not have an active listing.

Yes, a few months ago I started receiving the same message after many years of being able to list non-ISBN items not already in the Amazon catalogue. I've never been able to figure it out, and have had no help or support. Just the usual boilerplate.

You are listing the books as used, correct? I don't understand why Amazon would think you need approval from a publisher to sell used copies of their books.
This has been happening to me. I think Amazon is either trying to move away from used books or third-party sellers of used goods. Between this and the drop in quality of listings it's a very odd situation (by drop in quality of listings I mostly refer to listings that used to be accurate but are now inaccurate).

Yes, selling all books as used. And neither can I imagine why permission from a publisher would be needed to sell out-of-print publications, especially since many of the publishers from whom I am being required to have permission are LONG out of business!

Which is a thing that the SCOTUS decided when they issued the first sale doctrine. Amazon is the ONLY place that wants you to exhume long dead publishers and get their permission. David & Charles is NOT going to answer me without a seance...
