New Seller from eBay

discussion.Hi

I'm new here just moving away from eBay as it was getting harder and harder to make ends meet. Only to discover Amazon is just as hard to list certain items as in not allowing items to sell

Well, welcome to the crazy world of selling on Amazon. But this is a forum where other sellers ask questions to hopefully get some help. So not sure what your question is.

But I'd first suggest studying Seller University. Don't do RA and always have an invoice from your manufacture. NOT a Receipt.

Best of luck.

Realize that Amazon and eBay are very different, not only in how they work, but in customer's expectations.

Most eBay buyers realize that they are buying from an independent seller, not eBay itself. Used, unique, and other unusual items are normal on the bay; not so much on Amazon.

Amazon buyers will often think that they are buying directly from Amazon (regardless of how clearly the listing states otherwise). Many do not bother to read condition notes; so if you are selling used or unique items, expect a larger number of complaints than you get on eBay.

Also, Amazon's search function will depend on part on how many of an item has sold (except perhaps in Handmade). So if you have only one of an item, and do not find a matching page to list on, do not expect much in the way of traffic. OTOH, if you are selling large quantities of an item, Amazon might be a better fit, in terms of the customers attracted.

Lastly, Amazon is FAR less forgiving than eBay. In many cases, it's "One strike, you're out" forever. If you're unsure about selling an item, or how to respond to a complaint, be sure to ask on the forums before guessing at how to handle it.

Welcome aboard, and best of luck!

Welcome to Amazon and the seller forums @Seller_UPm0SJrU1QlUx! Glad to have you aboard! It is true that certain items or categories will require approval to sell in but I would echo the thoughts of the other seller in the thread in that the best place to start with all things Amazon is our Seller University series! I'll also highlight our New Seller Community here on forums as a great place for new sellers to learn and grow together.

Let us know if you have any questions as you dive into all this!

Best,

Danny
