Competitive Price vs External Competitive Price

Does anyone know the difference? Below are the same ASIN, B0002ZQX90. My $5.99 is the normal price, and I hold it for those rare times it is allowed - it sells 50 to 100 units per day at that point, compared to zero with no buy box; the other seller at $5.49 typically has about 50 on hand, while I have thousands, so I don't worry about them as they sell out quickly when the price is allowed. Most recently about 3 weeks ago, for a six day period. When the $2.00 occurred, Petco was selling for that, but after 4 days they went back to $5.99 and the Competitive Price never rose. They were also selling it for $2 on their website for that same period, and the Competitive External Price was $2. The External went away, but not the other.

Hello @Seller_pNjOVnF8a0aBi,

Thanks for posting to the Forums.

Based on my understanding of reviewing each pricing types, there is no difference between the Competitive price and the Competitive External Price. It might just be a matter of time for the system to pick up on the Competitive External Price and the Competitive price to match each other. I believe that in general, as your Lowest Price matches the Lowest Current Price, it should be an accurate reflection of the pricing.

Regards,

- Manny
