Can't sell my product using supplies bought on Amazon

I sell several season items and I use LED tea lights purchased by vendors on Amazon. However now due to UL4200A requirements I'm being told that I have to get these items validated by a lab to meet this standard. Shouldn't it already meet the standard if its being sold on Amazon?

I don't use these tea lights to make my products, I include them as a courtesy to my customers. It's like if my product needed AA batteries and I bought batteries from Amazon to include and was told I had to validate that the batteries are safe to sell on Amazon.

That's not proper sourcing. When you buy from a wholesaler -- the authorized distributor for a brand -- the wholesaler will be able to supply necessary paperwork.

When you buy retail (Amazon for example), you have none of that.

Once Amazon catches on (thanks for posting it on their forum!!!) your selling account will get permanently suspended and your buyer account likely too.

But for "all you know", they don't; and you are buying up non-compliant products that Amazon hasn't caught yet. You really have no way of being 100% sure.

But even if you are 100% positive, it is still up to YOU to provide the proof that the product YOU are selling is in compliance. Until you can do that, then I agree that the obvious solution is to remove the light from the listing, since (as I understand it) it is not a critical component of what you are selling.
