Buyer has refused to pay customs charges and opened a case for "Not delivered" (Ireland)

What exactly can I do in this situation? Buyer has been friendly enough in messages and I let them know if they don't pay, once it's returned we will refund them. However I've just seen they've opened a case with the comments "Not delivered", no mention of not paying customs charges.

Will Amazon just refund them as there's no delivery confirmation?

You will lose the A-Z

It is your responsibility to ensure that all customs charges are paid by you. The customer is not expected to pay any custom charges.

As there is no delivery confirmation you wouldn't have won it anyway. But you do need to make sure your customers are not expected to pay custom charges.

Hello @Seller_9fA2L82vl2c6V,

I see that other Sellers have already shared some guidelines here.

Brexit implications for Merchant Fulfilled offers: Seller-fulfilled orders (where the Selling Partner is using a 3rd party carrier) can continue to be fulfilled across the UK-EU border. It will be the Selling Partner’s responsibility to ensure all duties and tariffs are paid prior to delivery to the customer.

To be prepared for the future orders that might require customs payments, I would recommend you review the Amazon Brexit Guidance> section Frequently Asked Questions > point 4. MFN

Regards,

Sakura
