Need guidance on APPEAL PROCESS TO REACTIVATE A DEACTIVATED ACCOUNT
Hi everyone,
My Amazon seller account was deactivated because I was selling vintage projector lamps for projectors manufactured between the 1950s and 1990s. These lamps are no longer produced, but there are still millions of people who own these projectors and rely on them to view old memories or use them in educational/research institutions to access historical material.
Amazon has cited the Department of Energy's (DOE) policy requiring a "Lighting Facts Label" on the packaging of bulbs. Since these vintage lamps do not have such labels (they were not required at the time of manufacture), Amazon considers the product "Restricted," stating it violates their policy.
I have submitted several appeals explaining why the labels aren't present, as they were not mandated back then. Each time, my appeal was rejected with a vague note requesting "additional information." I’ve spoken with the Account Health Team after every rejection, and they suggest revisions to my appeal, but even those revised appeals have been rejected. When I ask what specific information is missing, the Account Health Team members themselves don’t seem to know.
It’s incredibly frustrating not to have clear guidance on what’s needed. There appears to be no internal system in place for the Account Health Team to review communication history or previous appeal rejections to provide sellers with accurate advice.
Has anyone faced a similar situation, or can anyone recommend a professional service or company that specializes in submitting appeals correctly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

Hello @Seller_WIXDsCpNCyMkN,
I have read your entire post and want to provide all the correct documentation I can for your specific situation.
I do have some help documents you can review:
- Address a Restricted Products policy violation
- Restricted products - in part states: Customers trust that they can always buy with confidence on Amazon. Products offered for sale on Amazon must comply with all laws and regulations and with Amazon's policies.
I understand there is sometimes a market for items that may be restricted within Amazon. All sellers agree to the Amazon Policies, agreements, and guidelines when creating selling accounts.
Did you receive a Performance Notification that explained the policy for vintage projector lamps (bulbs)?
The performance notification from the date of the account deactivation may give you what you will need to appeal. To allow me to give you some more specific information, I will need ASIN's, a case ID or a performance notification.
I look forward to your response. Thank you for reaching out on the forums.

I just had the same thing happen to my amazon selling account. Were you able to get your account reinstated? If so, can you reply back and let me know what documents did you have to send to amazon to review and reinstate your account? How were you able to get a phone number to call Amazon seller support team to discusss this situation.
