Account Deactivated Because They Linked Me To My Girlfriend
I started selling about a month ago on a brand-new account that belongs to me. My girlfriend had sold on Amazon in the past but has not used her account since last July. Her account was deactivated because she didn't use it anymore and then we moved in together. I started using her laptop and we share a desktop so I'm wondering how they linked our accounts because all our information is completely separate and my account only has my information. I started selling on Amazon to make extra income because she was hospitalized due to her pregnancy and now Amazon has deactivated my account and won't disburse my funds. I have almost $18,000 in the account that I need to pay for her medical bills and treatment and they are saying I need to submit proof that I no longer have ownership of her account, but I never did. Can someone please tell me what to do to get my account back? Thanks.

Your accounts are associated. It is not a mistaken association -- you are in the same household. That means the health of one account is hinged to the other.
In general -- when you open a second account and the first account is not healthy, you will not be able to do anything with the second account (yours) without fixing the first (her) account.

Really? You're using the same computers on both accounts, and you wonder how Amazon managed to link you? I would think it would be obvious.
Many Amazon sellers (including myself) won't even buy a refurbished computer, due to concerns about getting linked to another account. Using one that you KNOW was used for another account is a sure-fire way to get them linked. The fact that Amazon can pretty easily check and see that she now lives at the same address as you (I assume she changed her address), it's not hard to link the accounts, even if you used separate banks, credit cards, etc.
You'll need to reactivate her account.

Hello there, my name is CR and wanted to pop in here to provide you with some information.
I see you were sent a performance notification today, 2/6/2024 that outlines the next steps that you need to take here. Unfortunately, I do not have any additional information to share, but please do follow the guidance provided within the performance notification in your account.
I recommend reviewing your account details including email addresses, business addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, user permissions, etc. Once you can identify what information the accounts have in common, you want to delete all connections between the two accounts.
Next step: Submit a plan of action:
• Root Cause: Explain why or how your account was deactivated and linked to another Seller Account.
• Corrective steps: Pinpoint or analyze what you have done to verify none of your information has been used in relation to another account and what you have done to correct it.
• Preventative steps: What steps or safety measures have you taken to ensure and prevent this issue from happening again?
Supporting Documents: includes but is not limited to sales deed, purchase agreement, business transfer agreement, or contract termination.
Here is some helpful information Selling Policies and Seller Code of Conduct, Address a Multiple Account Policy violation to help get a better understanding of Amazon's policy.
Check your account and performance notifications periodically for updates and additional information/steps.

If she was deactivated simply for inactivity, that should be a fairly simple fix. It's likely a matter of her going through seller verification again. If it was due to a policy violation, however, that's much more involved.
Is there an activate button on her Account Health dashboard? If so, what does it show when she clicks it?
As others have correctly stated, now that your accounts have been linked, the only way for you to appeal your deactivation is to reactivate her account first.
