Wrongful inventory disposition change to "Defective" due to mistaken compliance requirements for Consumer Button Cell Battery
Hi Everyone,
We received a performance notification on 26th September, we are required to submit compliance documents for 4 ASINs because they were mistakenly classified as a consumer button cell battery product, the detail pages were removed.
Due to the fact that these products don't contain or use any button cell battery, we submitted appeal and the detail pages have been reinstated on 16th October, the compliance team have confirmed these products do NOT fall under the Product Category Products Containing button battery therefore compliance documents are NOT required.
Unfortunately, the appeal took too long that all 1000+ units inventory were marked as defective on same day October 3rd, 2024 (right one week after detail page removed).
Account Health can't help as they see nothing from their end. FBA team claims they won't even perform a bin check and they recommended a removal for all defective inventory, we don't want to increase unnecessary workload for fulfillment centres in this peak season, because absolutely nothing is wrong with the inventory (not expirable, not barcode issues, not transparency, correct titles, product matches detail page, etc), all inventory were fine until we received the mistaken compliance requirements.
We had similar situation happen to us once and amazon ultimately moved the inventory back into "available" status few days after the compliance requirements are approved, so we are hoping that anyone can help us out in this situation once more.
