No BuyBox when FBM cheaper than FBA

We are both FBA and FBM seller, and we have a seperate SKU for FBA and FBM listings. What often happens to us is that when our FBM offer is significantly cheaper than FBA, then none of our offers is BuyBox eligible. In order to have BuyBox we need to price our FBM as high as FBA so, that FBA offer wins the BuyBox. SS refuses to investigate as BuyBox is not an algorithm they have an access to.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any solutions for it ?

I believe Amazon have rules re pricing on other sites. Perhaps they have rules re FBA/FBM pricing? You might wish to check this out rather than risking the The Wrath of Am ! ! !

If the price disparity is greater than around 10% between FBM and FBA offers then nobody will win the buy box. I have both offers on all of my listings (I also sell on other channels) and it’s a pricing issue. Please try with gap <10%

I have found on several occasions to get the FBA buy box I have to put my FBM listings to 0. It is not always necessary but for a few of my listings I have to otherwise I cannot get the buy box. A pain I know especially if FBA runs out and you don’t notice, you don’t have stock in the FBM listing so lose out on sales.

This is always the matter, Im afraid no solution, if your FBM is significantly cheaper than FBA , no buy box and the item will be available from these sellers , you need to match the FBA price or get your FBM price closer to FBA , so FBA will have the buy box.

The Buy Box has a very complicated Algo . Its not just price based , and there is nothing Seller support can do or investigate as the Algo is only known to a select team of specialists . In fact many in that specialist team only knows how certain parts of the Algo works and not the whole thing in its entirety . It is only a select few that knows the working of the Algo in its entirety and not not anyone lowdown the hierarchy

If you sell books it makes no difference as Amazon always give itself the buy box. You can be at £3.99p with free delivery and Amazon will be £14.99 but Amazon will get the buy box, despite over 20 sellers all at less. Its the reason we list more on eBay as its a more level playing field for the customer

I am usually able to get the BuyBox with a FBM listing against a FBA seller, when my price is approx. 30% lower than the FBA seller’s.

However, as soon as I place both a FBA and a FBM offer on the same ASIN, where I am the only seller, the BuyBox is completely lost and it shows as “Available from these Sellers”.
