Re: New Placement Service Fees Inbound Settings
Re: New Placement Service Fees Inbound Settings
I am located in Las Vegas. I have my Inbound Settings at
Minimal shipment splits: You send inventory to minimal locations and we'll spread the inventory > West
I assumed this meant that they will have me ship all my products to the nearest FC in one shipment and then they will distribute my items to wherever is optimal and charge me a fee for the service (like the service was originally designed). If so, why are they making me ship my products to TX and NJ for 120 pieces of 50 SKUs? If they make me ship to a FC in Vegas or AZ or even CA, I might understand their system. but why are they making me ship to NJ and TX and then charge me additional "placement service"?

Welcome to the club. We no longer get the option to ship to an FC 100-200 miles away (even when we say we'll ship to 5 locations).

Hi @Seller_Vd3fzE8t2WKbN,
Thank you for reaching out with this question and for your patience here! I'm happy to see that my colleague, TaylorR, has responded to your other thread about this right here. For visibility, I also wanted to include that answer within this thread as well.
To reduce or avoid the inbound placement service fee (and if your shipping plan qualifies), you can use the Partial shipment splits option or the Amazon-optimized shipment splits option. With these options, you pay a reduced fee or no fee for sending your inventory to multiple inbound locations across our network.
- Minimal shipment splits: You can send your inventory to the minimal number of inbound locations, generally to a single location, and we will spread inventory across our network on your behalf, for a fee. The fee may vary by inbound location—for example, there may be higher fees for shipments sent to locations in the West versus other parts of the country.
- Partial or Amazon-optimized shipment splits: Send your inventory to multiple inbound locations yourself for a reduced or no fee. The reduced fees will depend on the number of shipments and inbound locations that you send your inventory to. For instance, if your shipping plan qualifies, you can select the inbound placement option to send your inventory to the optimal number of inbound locations recommended by Amazon, generally four or more locations, and pay no fee. If you select the placement option in which you send your inventory to a partial number of inbound locations, generally two or three, you will pay a reduced fee.
Additionally, fees may be lower for shipments sent to locations outside of the Western part of the country.
As TaylorR suggested, you may also want to check out Supply Chain by Amazon. AWD pricing covers FBA inbound placement services, therefore no separate FBA inbound placement service fee is charged. We will manage optimal inventory placement into Amazon’s network as an included service on your behalf.
If you have any additional questions, please let me or TaylorR know!
All the best,
Jameson
