Sudden spike in ACOS. Sales dropped.

Hi everyone,

We noticed a sudden drop in our account's sales around last Wednesday. We reviewed all the normal culprits but didn't find anything. The one data point that stood out to us was our ACOS has nearly doubled. Ad spend, impressions, and clicks have remained consistent, but sales have droped significantly.

Does anyone have any ideas for why this is happening?

Hi @Seller_9yGw11Anyzwwl,

Tatiana from Amazon here -- I've just come across your post.

It is important to remember that ACOS and the effectiveness of your keywords can change over time, especially as we progress to a different time of year. Once you start to see ACOS rising and conversions dropping, it might be time to re-optimize your campaigns.

Optimization might entail re-allocating budget to away from keywords that are no longer performing and moving it to higher performing keywords. It could also mean removing some keywords all together and researching new ones.

It really just depends on your product, but we always recommend taking some kind of optimization action every couple of weeks to ensure your campaigns are staying relevant.

We also recently posted about this topic here. There is some great information and resources that might be of more help.
