Buyer Fraud

Admin Looking for some assistance on this Clearly Buyer Fraud Return. Filed Safe-T Claim and won however I was only granted a partial refund "Restock Fee" The Item is complete trash and cannot be resold. I included photos before shipment and what was returned to us. Its clear the customer returned a product over a year old that clearly wasn't damaged in transit as they claimed. This partial refund were still out $247.95 for the return.

Order# 111-5480281-2989832 Claim 58730-88589-4105417

The buyer needs to be investigated because it's clear this isn't the first time they committed this type of fraud. We used Amazon buy label and had we been able to issue the refund we could have with-held 100%

This was my Statement for claim:

(1) We shipped a BRAND New product in Brand New box (Shipped Product JPG Attached) UPS Tracking has ZERO history of Damaged in transit. (2) Pump appears to have some water inside as water can be heard when its moved. Bottom of box appears to have dried due to the box getting wet inside. (3) The top metal cap appears to have pry marks from a screw driver (Pry Marks JPG) (4) Return included threaded caps (Caps do not come with pipe threading that is done when its installed. (5) Cap on bottom of motor is crooked and screws are stripped (Customer didn't even screw the cap back on properly) (6) The returned item Clearly has evidence its a OLD, heavily used and very dirty product. (7) The box the product was returned in is NOT damaged in location that the item is damaged. It is our belief that several things could have happened. #1 being the customer took our brand new pump and swapped out inside components with used ones as the rear cap was crooked and screwed back incorrectly damaging the screw causing them to strip. (2) Customer dropped and or damaged the product on their own because the box is NOT damaged in the location in which the product is damaged the inside of the Box also doesn't have the huge paint chunks that are missing inside. (3) The returned their old, used and broken pump. We are requesting their previous buying history and returns be reviewed by Amazon as its clear they have done this before. They have violated Amazon buyer policies. The product cannot be resold. This is clearly NOT the brand new item we shipped them and has YEARS of use as clearly seen by the used Product. This is Not a damaged in transit product this is a broken, used and swapped out item and that can clearly be seen by the photo of the product we shipped them. We are requesting this be covered under the Safe-T Claim. We honestly believe Amazon should suspend this customers account.

At the very least this customer needs to be investigated but the Safe-T claim amount needs to be adjusted accordingly. Restock fee wasn't even 50% plus the shipping costs for an item that weighs 26 pounds!

Hello @Seller_NXbqvZ48ChbPj- thanks for detailing this situation here on the forums, and I apologize that you received a damaged item via a return.

As I view the claim currently, it shows to be under review following a seller appeal yesterday. Please do allow our team some time to complete the review, and let me know if you have any questions.

In the meantime, you may wish to review our resources on SAFE-T Claims, which does confirm that "As per Amazon’s returns policy, if the product is damaged by the buyer, you will be reimbursed up to 50% of the order sales price of the product." (emphasis is my own).

Additionally, if you haven't done so yet, please follow the process on this page to report a buyer violation.

Finally, you may find information from this post useful, as it contains context on best practices for selecting appropriate reason codes when filing SAFE-T Claims, along with other recommendations from sellers!

Thanks much,

Danny

Amazon Seller Dept refunded lots of potentially fraud buyers without me seller's permission or options! Amazon should allow seller to set "No return allowed"!
