Did I miss a trick? my account now at risk of deactivation
Hi Everyone,
With the Royal Mail strike on Thursday 13th Oct, several of my prime orders(FBM) could not be collected(we like many other use Royal Mail Business Collections), I thought too myself oh well Amazon have moved the dates out before to factor this in, but not this time. I have now been flagged with Late Dispatch Rate - Account at risk of deactivation.
Q1. Did everyone else do something differently with their FBM as I thought the forums would be full of people all in the same boat? I’m concerned that with several other strikes coming up that I won’t be able to do FBM during these days as my metrics will be hammered again.
Q2. I’m think that turning off the Prime Badge during these days would help? your thoughts
We have looked at using other couriers but they wanted monthly volume commitments and frankly too much hassle(tried hermes and they made me lay out all my parcels on the floor at pick up time and had to scan each one before loading into their van) - no sacks or boxes provided to put 50 - 100 items in either(so very chaotic and too much room for error)
Q3. If anyone is using another courier for MON - SAT Collections that they are happy with please expand on why and if it cost effective? We like Royal Mail as we get the mailsacks and the click and drop interface is easy to get our heads around.
Thanks in advance
Putneyboy
FYI - Policy below and stats below
Late Dispatch Rate
Target : under 4%
Time Window: 10 days
Order date : 6 Oct 2022 - 15 Oct 2022
15.15%
Orders shipped late: 5
The Late Shipment Rate (LSR) is all orders with a ship confirmation that is completed after the expected ship date as a percentage of total orders over both a 10-day or 30-day period. LSR only applies to seller-fulfilled orders.
It’s important to confirm the shipment of orders by the expected ship date so that customers can see the status of their shipped orders online. Orders that are ship confirmed late may lead to increased claims, negative feedback and/or customer contacts and negatively impact customer experience. Adjusting your handling time can help prevent late shipments;
Our policy is that sellers maintain an LSR under 4% in order to sell on Amazon. An LSR above 4% may result in account deactivation

Unfortunately when amazon made the announcement initially, they recommended to switch off prime, put on holiday settings or extend handling times during the strikes
They did say they’d protect sellers accounts, but have since removed that statement from the account health page
There is another strike this coming Thursday too, the following Tuesday, and then roughly 1 or 2 a week in November for different departments
Your only other option for prime is DPD - not hermes
Have you been asked to submit a poa ? Or will you have enough orders this weekend to water down that 15% for the 7 day metric ?

If Royal Mail depot is nearby we drop them two to three times a day.

Yes, my Late Dispatch rate was 20% Friday. We don’t normally dispatch on Saturdays, but I personally went to the post office yesterday to drop off some orders. Hoping to bring down my rates…but this morning rate was 22.5%. It’s back to 20% now…but don’t understand why it hasn’t fallen. I made sure the po counter scan the manifest.
Evri is not available for me in Buy Shipping, but it’s been suggested here to use DPD. Like you, we only have Large Letter size, so it will mean pay more on DPD or set longer handling time.
Can I ask, if buy shipping via DPD, would I have to book a collection with DPD?
