VTR Rate Issue - Royal Mail Tracked?
Hi there, is anyone using Royal Mail Tracked 24 & 48 and have a Valid Tracking Rate that is 95% or higher for these services? We currently use the standard Click & Drop 24 & 48 service but the VTR (scan rate effectively) is only 86% and this will not get us through the changes on the 19th April. My Royal Mail Account Manager has advised us to change to Tracked and said that their scan rates are 97% on these services…but I’m skeptical! Thanks.

Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 should be fine as they have several scans - one each in depot and amazon have said they only need to see one scan for it to be valid

It isn’t for us. We’re looking into other courier options, but seem to be running into similar issues. Either they’re not fully integrated with Amazon or their shipping options aren’t up to scratch.
We’re going to try switching to special delivery and charge accordingly for the time being. That should at least get scanned at their sorting facilities too. I’m sure both Amazon and Royal Mail are aware there’s an upcoming issue with a LOT of sellers, but I don’t want to risk losing our account in the time it takes them to come up with a solution.

I suppose he would wouldn’t he? Given that Tracked is a premium service.
An extra £2.64 per Large Letter simply because Royal Mail posties can’t do their job properly…

Hello @Revive_Medicare1,
From your post I understand that you are shipping the product with Royal Mail Tracked 24 & 48 service within the expected ship date but the Valid tracking rate is showing below 95% and you need recommendation to improve the same.
If you use Royal Mail 24/48 service to deliver your packages, then you must provide the unique parcel ID, located above the 2D barcode on the label. This will allow Amazon to provide customers with a delivery scan event. If you are using a Royal Mail 24/48 product that does not have a barcode, please ensure you contact your Royal Mail account manager, to set up these services. You will not be able to dispatch confirm an order using a Royal Mail 24/48 delivery method unless you provide the parcel ID.

Hello,
We have linked our RM24/48 account to Amazon and setup the Buy Shipping Preferences to include RM, DPD and Amazon Shipping as we also use FBA.
We are hoping to see a increase in our VTR as a result of following recommended Shipping processes.
I am dubious, as ultimately from this forum my understanding is that if RM do not scan codes, then the Parcel ID will remain invalid according to Amazon.
Further to this can any help with printing shipping labels and delivery notes at the same time, for each order. currently, I print the shipping label once i purchase the shipping through ‘Buy Shipping’ and then return to the parcel via shipped items, find the order and print delivery notes manually.
Appreciate any guidance.

RM is a disaster. My VTR, some orders are not searchable on Click & Drop business.
My ON TIME DELIVERY reports for April shows over 200 orders shows NOT DELIVERED when I track.
So worried now, RM can’t get their act together, and if I get suspended, there will no proof that order was dispatched or delivered.
We ship by Large Letter and RM are the only company that provides this service.

I now use RM Tracked 48 for all my parcels and am getting a 100% VTR for those items. Once the label is printed and they have been packed we mark them as packed on Click & Drop and they update to Amazon with the corect details.
For Large Letters I am still using CRL through Click & Drop, for those I am currently seeing a 92%+ VTR
My overall VTR is currently 93.88%, this is due to items with a delivery date of pre 12 April when I made some changes. As the VTR is based on Catergories rather than overall performance, if you mix items it is essential to have a mix of parcels & Large Letters, 4 out of 5 categories are safe, the 5th is currently at 91% but I am expecting that to change in the next week or two…
I am not convinced, I find it works exceptionally well, over the years I have heard many people complaining about the Royal Mail service, I have used it for the last 30 years with very few problems.
Why do they treat my mail differently, give me a better service?
