A to Z claim buyer in possession of item and refund

buyer claimed item not useful, then created an a to z claim stating the item is non functional and was awarded a refund without returning the item. i was told to contact the buyer to have the item returned to me but from the start of the claim there was no option to communicate with the buyer just issue a refund, i have contacted amazon many times about having the item returned with there only response contact the buyer although thats not an option!! buyer is in possession of a fully functional brand new unit for free at my expense, if the unit is not functional or useful there should be no issue returning it!!
