Is it true that reviews follow ASINS not SKU

1. Is it true that reviews follow ASINS not SKU?

So if you delete an SKU and start a new SKU for the same ASIN, does your old customer reviews get reinstated?

2. Is there any way to move FBA stock in one SKU and transfer it to another SKU?

Hi @Seller_idQUopIou9L5d

  1. Yes, reviews are tied to ASINs, not SKUs. This means you can create a new listing (with a new SKU) for the same ASIN, and all reviews will remain. You can link to the existing ASIN by either using ASIN or UPC as your external_product_id. Having two SKUs linked to the same ASIN at the same time requires some differentiation between the offerings. e.g. one SKU could have a different shipment method or one SKU could have a different condition type. But I think that's less relevant as you would delete the old SKU before creating the new one, correct?
  2. For FBA inventory, Amazon typically uses FNSKUs to track inventory. When you change your SKU, the FNSKU also changes. An exception to that rule could be if you were using Amazon's 'FBA virtual tracking' program. However, switching to that program now wouldn't solve your issue, as the help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GEFKUGES6NSE7CBP) says that you cannot change barcode settings if inventory is already in or in transit to fulfillment centers - you'll need to either sell through your current inventory or create a removal order first.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards, Michael
