Return Fraud - Christmas Period

We have seen an influx of returns from the extended Christmas returns where many buyers are falsely claiming items are “not original” or “fake” as a return reason, triggering authenticity violations. They are mostly in beauty category. In most cases they receive full refunds without even returning the products, which appears to be an increasing scam tactic to claim free products.

We have been proactively working with Account Health, submitting invoices and proof of our legitimate supply chain, but we are constantly hitting a brick wall. Support teams seem incapable of verifying simple purchase and sales data, making it frustrating for genuine sellers who follow the rules.

At the same time, Amazon has no clear policy to reduce return fraud, and the automatic refunds without product returns are only encouraging more abuse. Sellers are left vulnerable not only losing inventory and revenue but also facing account deactivation risks due to wrongful authenticity complaints.

This is deeply unfair to legitimate sellers. Also saw a recent article in Forbes about this issue. Has anyone seen an increase in return fraud this season too ?
