Does anyone know this - fulfillment fees / summary in repository

Hi all, I'm doing some accounting stuff and working with an accountant who isn't very familiar with Amazon's ways just yet -- but he is an incredible accountant.

Basically, we pulled up an Amazon summary from the repository and it shows us the income, transfers, tax collected as well as a list of all the expenses.

We also pulled up all the tax documents under seller's invoice and there is a long list of Amazon fulfillment fees and advertising we paid for and a lot of tax. We are trying to match up the total amount from the fulfillment fees with what is listed on the Amazon summary in the repository but can't quite seem to get anything to match.

The approximate total amount in the fulfillment fees is $27,000 (without tax) and $3000 plus tax for a total of $30,000.

The lines on the expenses are:

-------------------------------------

Seller fulfilled selling fees

FBA selling fees

Selling fee refunds

FBA transaction fees

FBA transaction fee refunds

Other transaction fees

FBA inventory and inbound service fees

Service fees

Refund administration fees

adjustments

cost of advertising

Total approximate subtotal is -$48,000.

What lines on the summary are the same as the fulfillment fees? Where are the fulfillment fees spread among the summary sheet?

Thank you,

Hi @Seller_cxnP7QF0LJ8qT,

I understand your concern regarding matching the fulfillment fees from your accountant's records with the expense summary from Amazon. Reconciling accounts can be a complex process, especially when dealing with Amazon's fee structure. However, I'll do my best to provide some clarity and guidance.

First and foremost, it's important to note that Amazon's fulfillment fees are typically categorized under different line items in the expense summary. The main components of fulfillment fees are:

FBA Selling Fees: These are the fees charged by Amazon for storing, picking, packing, and shipping your products through their Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service.

FBA Transaction Fees: These are the fees charged by Amazon for each unit sold through FBA, which covers the cost of customer service and other related expenses.

FBA Inventory and Inbound Service Fees: These are the fees charged for receiving and storing your inventory in Amazon's fulfillment centers.

Based on the expense summary you provided, the lines that correspond to fulfillment fees are:

  • FBA Selling Fees
  • FBA Transaction Fees
  • FBA Inventory and Inbound Service Fees

It's worth noting that some of these fees may be subject to tax, which could explain the discrepancy between the $27,000 figure and the total expenses shown in your summary.

To reconcile the accounts accurately, I recommend following these steps:

  1. Review the detailed fee breakdown for each order in your Amazon Seller Central account. This will provide a granular view of the specific fees charged for each transaction.
  2. Cross-reference the fee breakdown with the expense summary, ensuring that you account for any tax or refunds related to fulfillment fees.
  3. If you're still having trouble reconciling the numbers, consider using Amazon's fee calculation tools or reaching out to Seller Support for further assistance.

I hope this information helps you and your accountant better understand how Amazon's fulfillment fees are reflected in the expense summary. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.
