DELHI FBA WAREHOUSE ITEMS MISSING IN EVERY SHIPMENT
It is very frustrating , items are going missing in every shipment. And the worst part is there is no support at all. Electronic items that we send go missing and Amazon support very nicely says that we have sent short shipment. Since there is nothing that is done hence these scams continue to happen. Who so ever is doing it is well aware that there is no action that is going to be taken. As a seller why would we enter 50 units and send only 39. Either Amazon India does not want people to send to FBA because this scam is not going to stop until and unless some action is taken.
As a seller now we know how does Amazon items (open box) sell in open market at a much lesser rate. The scamsters at the warehouse have been causing losses to us by marking items as missing. And the seller support doesnt take any action on them. Amazon India, as it is you are taking a considerable amount of margin on the sales, and if such losses also add up on us then it is better to tie up with someone in the Amazon warehouse to get products out for free from shipments and then sell it. Its high time some action is taken, stop being blindfolded on such issues

We were troubled by the same issue for a very long time. You can try the following, this helped us:
1) Document photo evidence: Click photos of final box with weight visible. Also Paste packing slip on your boxes highlighting the same weight
2) While booking boxes, enter only the actual weight of the box. Your PODs should reflect accurate information about weight and dimension of boxes.
3) Ensure that your boxes are well sealed. Belt strap the boxes to reduce intransit damages.
If you do this, even if when Amazon will mark your shipment as Short shipment, the chances that they will reimburse for the damages increase exponentially. Because with proper documentation, it becomes evident that the discrepancy in quantity received was not due to the seller but because of manhandling intransit by courier or warehouse team.
With proper evidence and documentation, you can then file for investigation of shipment in FBA Shipping Queue section. Doing all this drastically reduced short shipment issue in our case.

Dear Seller,
You are not alone in facing these challenges—95% of sellers are dealing with the same issues. Amazon has been treating Indian sellers unfairly, often subjecting us to practices that feel more like exploitation. Below is an outline of how returns and thefts are harming sellers:
How Returns and Thefts Are Exploiting Sellers:
****************************************************
Product Theft by ATS and Hub Managers:
It seems/ evident that products are often stolen by Amazon's internal staff or hub managers. Sellers not only lose their stock but are also hit with a 15% SCRR fine, resulting in a double loss.
Meanwhile, Amazon profits from both the stolen goods and the fines imposed on sellers.
Unjustified Returns:
Customers frequently return products with little or no justification, yet sellers are still charged a 5% return fee. On top of that, a 15% SCRR fine is often added. When these returned products are resold, Amazon imposes full fees again, meaning sellers are charged multiple times for the same item, leading to significant financial losses.
Reselling a Returned Product:
**********************************
Even when a returned product is in good condition and can be resold, sellers are still severely penalized:
Without SCRR Fine: Sellers lose 80.28% of the selling price due to various fees and charges.
With SCRR Fine: Sellers lose 95.28%, leaving just 4.72% to cover the cost of the product, packaging, and other expenses.
A Vicious Cycle of Fines and Fees:
This creates a continuous cycle of penalties where sellers are hit again and again, either through theft or unjustified returns. Even when attempting to recover losses by reselling returned items, the overwhelming fees make profitability almost impossible.
The Bigger Picture:
Selling on Amazon has become a high-risk venture for sellers due to hidden fees, unfair penalties, and exploitative practices. In some cases, sellers lose up to 95% of the selling price, leaving minimal margins or even leading to losses. Despite high sales, these practices make it nearly impossible for sellers to stay profitable.
I'm part of a Facebook Amazon sellers group with over 38,000 members, including 4 Amazon admins. Recently, a survey was posted asking about daily sales, with options ranging from ₹5,000, ₹10,000, ₹15,000, to over ₹50,000. Shockingly, over 80% of respondents were in the ₹5,000 bracket. Reading the posts from sellers sharing their struggles is truly heartbreaking. Many of us feel exploited, treated like third-class slaves in Amazon's system.
As a result, we've almost stopped planning to add more listings on Amazon and have lost the enthusiasm we once had when we started. After calculating, we realized that even with good margins as manufacturers, we ultimately end up losing an additional 22% beyond the selling price.

Theft is now a very common issue now. Amazon claiming short shipment now sound like a joke. Protect your packaging with multiple security layers, also try to decrease your per box unit quantity, if you are doing 50 units per box, decrease it to 25 to 30 per box(Depends upon your product size), Avoid double layered partition inside the box as well. India is turning into a very brutal marketplace. People are finding it very difficult to earn money nowadays with inflation at its peak. Theft will increase by time and will go on so. Well it's a good sign that your products are worth the theft. that means you are selling in a good category. Focus on what you can improve. Thanks.
