FBA Order shipped to Jersey. VAT deducted

Hello,

I have had VAT deducted from a FBA order that was shipped to Jersey. I am not VAT registered (turnover is below the threshold) so I do not believe this should have happened.

I have spoken with Seller Support who have told me that I would receive the full amount of £154.95, however, I have been paid £129.12 (20% VAT has been deducted). I am now on my 7th or 8th email from their ''specialised VAT department'' who do not seem to understand VAT at all. Rather than reimburse me the money I am owed and have been told I would receive, they simply email a copy and paste VAT calculation over and over again.

I would appreciate if any of the Mods could be of assistance as I am sick of getting nowhere with Seller Support. Case ID is 10624282862.

Thank you!

Hello @Seller_7mVxE8D2yOFvP,

I have previously raised this query with the VAT team due to similar concerns expressed by other Sellers.

Please find the guidance they shared below:

"Seller should follow this guidance to set their price: https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gc/vat-education/uk-voec?ref=VATed_ukvoeclp_eu&ref_=xx_swlang_head_xx&mons_sel_locale=en_GB&languageSwitched=1

In order to comply with the new VAT regulations, Amazon will calculate and remit the applicable VAT due on your sales that meet the above qualifications.

Prices listed on the UK marketplace will be treated as inclusive of UK VAT. Amazon will calculate the UK VAT due on your sale and withhold this from the amount collected from the customer.

For shipments fulfilled from outside of the UK, Amazon will calculate the VAT exclusive value of the customer order to determine if the shipment value is above or below the threshold of £135. If the value is at or below this threshold, Amazon will calculate the UK VAT payable and withhold this from the amount collected from the customer. If the value exceeds £135, Amazon will not withhold any amount from the customer.

Review your pricing settings to ensure these include applicable VAT. You are required to provide list prices that are inclusive of all applicable taxes, including VAT, for that storefront. If your supplies were previously under the VAT exemption for sales of goods under £15 then you may not have included VAT in your prices previously. Visit Manage Inventory."

Kind regards,

Sarah.
