A-Z Claim , Amazon does not even look at their Own Tracking

Amazon auto- authorized a Return Request, Customer received Amazon's Return Label and sent the item back.
A few days later, Customer reached out to Amazon asking for refund and customer receives the refund via A-Z claim.
However, we did not receive the return. Upon checking, I found that the item was damaged in transit and it was never received. Amazon should at least have such an algorithm in place to see if a return is delivered or not.
I appealed to the claim and it was denied where it was stated that the item was received. Please can someone help ? Now there is no way to re-appeal for an item costing USD 1500
