Inbound Placement Fee because I used Non-Amazon partnered carrier?

First I am in Canada and sending to the US. I can not select "partnered carrier"

I went through my workflow of creating my first shipment. Selected Amazon-optimized shipment splits, sent to 5 warehouses and the Placement fee shows zero.

A month later I started getting placement fees for each of the 5 shipments. So I called in because we are now talking about 100s of dollars, I get escalated and the agent tells me I am being charged placement fees because I used a Non-Amazon partnered carrier.

This does not sound right. I can not find anywhere in the documentation that placement fees are dependent on the carrier. I sent to the 5 locations Amazon asked me to. The agent was adamant that the reason my queue shows 0 fees is because I use Non-Amazon partnered carrier they can not estimate the costs.

Is this a thing?

Hi there @Seller_DqPQKCfYJU3OI

Happy to answer this! The inbound placement fee isn't actually charged to your account until the units in your shipment have actually arrived. From Seller Support:

"You’ll be charged an FBA inbound placement service fee 45 days after your shipment is received. You can track your charges as follows:

  • Go to Payments dashboard.
  • Click the Transaction view tab, then select Service fees in the Transaction type drop-down menu.
  • Click Update to view your FBA inbound placement service fee per shipment.
  • Locate your shipment ID under the Order ID field in the transaction view. You will be able to view the total fee charges on a shipment level."

Would you mind sharing your most recent case # that you have opened with Seller Support on this and I'd be happy to take a further look there for you. Out of curiosity, have you also posted this in the Canada seller forums?

I'll hang here for your response.
