I am being charged Amazon storage fees 4x more and now 6x more than before and amazon wont give me a way to see how they're billing. What is going on?
Amazon, I don't know how you can do this. I was charged a monthly storage fee, then I was charged 4x the fee during the "seasonal increase" for Q4 an now it's up even more to 6x - even though my inventory is decreasing!! How is this possible? My monthly storage fee was only $40/mo and now it's $260!!! How is this possible? When every month my inventory is going down because units are selling. When I had asked customer service to explain they said the seasonal increase was only 2.5x how can it increase so much? How can us seller how any math accountable when you are just seemingly charging us whatever you want every month without giving us a detailed calculated breakdown of the sqft you are billing for!? Sellers is this happening to you too?

We need a transparent breakdown to see what the cubic foot used for inventory is per month, and what the billing rate is per month, and this honestly should just be transparently shown to us in your seller portal. How can you charge crazy fees like this and give us no way to see or verify anything and you just auto debit this from our account?!

According to the help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G3EDYEF6KUCFQTNM), the significant increase you're seeing is likely due to:
- Peak period rates (October-December: $2.40/cubic foot vs regular $0.87/cubic foot for standard-size items)
- Possible storage utilization surcharges based on your inventory turnover rate
The help page suggests several ways to reduce these fees:
- Check your storage utilization ratio in the FBA Dashboard
- Consider removal orders for slow-moving inventory
- Review your inventory strategy for the peak season

If I were you I would do a removal order, get your product back, and start selling FBM. With FBM you don't have any of those fees and you can price your product accordingly. With FBM you have full control over your inventory.
