A-Z customer not wanting to pay customs
I appealed a case but lost. The item was shipped to Ireland and arrived one day late due to Christmas. The postal service informed me that the recipient needed to pay £10 in customs, but he refused it. Then he opened the A/Z I submitted an appeal, as it is the law to pay customs fees, but Amazon denied my appeal. This seems wrong because I fulfilled my responsibilities. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do next?

you lost the appeal because Amazon expects the seller to cover all customs duties not the buyer. The buyer only pays the amount the item cost at time of purchase and should not have to pay additional duties.

If the cost of the order was under 150 Euro Amazon will have collected the VAT as they are required, there are no 'customs' fees between the UK and EU.
If you had sent the item with the correct customs details; Amazon's IOSS number, tariff code, etc., the customer would not have been required to pay the VAT again.

are you talking about customs duties (as post says) or VAT??

I had one of these label shows IOSS etc. I contacted the Irish postal service via their website and they say the sale did not "come over" to them from Royal Mail with IOSS added.
I got nowhere with Royal mail and the Irish post would not budge either.
