Multiple orders from different accounts: possible fraud

A few days ago I received multiple orders (for different quantities of the same product) coming from different accounts to be shipped to the same person and to the same mailing address.

I find it suspicious.

I was thinking of cancelling those orders (they are all Seller Fulfilled). I opened a case, just to ensure I will not be penalized for cancelling those orders. The answer I received was that nothing looks suspicious and I can go ahead and fulfill those orders, but "in case you would like to have a specialist team look in to this issue, you can proceed by reporting the buyer".

So I followed the instructions and I reported the (potential) abuse, but predictably, today I received a response indicating that there does not seem to be any "right infringement violation". Clearly my request was misunderstood.

How should I proceed? Shall I just cancel those orders and move on?

Any Mod willing to provide advice? @Levi_Dylan_Amazon, @Emet_Amazon, @Micah_Amazon...

The case ID is 16535114291.

Thanks!

If you don't fulfill these orders, your ODR will seriously be affected. So in fact, you have no choice. Use "Amazon Buy Shipping".

Do you have limits of purchase QTY set on your listing? Perhaps they need more than that limit if its set. I have a limit set on some of my heavier listings to protect against shipping costs with the free shipping deal I have offered for said listing. Either way, you should send them asap and just use the Amazon shipping option. Brigette has GOOD ADVICE on this!!!!!!

Ship them on Amazons shipping. You should be protected from claims.

Could the ITEM you sell be on a wish list of a business or nonprofit. We often get this and it is almost always for animal shelters or rescues. All different buyers buying the same item going to same business location. It is actually quite common for us anyway.

It could be someone forwarding to another country. I recognised an address that was ordering all kinds of different things from different accounts - when I checked it out I realised it was someone forwarding goods to somewhere in Eastern Europe. There was only ever one complaint about non-delivery, and it was a genuine one.

I had a serious competitor attack on all of my products last year. Obvious fraud where they would order all of my products, return them and leave one star reviews, I would guess more than 30 reviews covering all products. I know who done it and issued proof via social media friends, one was his sister and one ended up purchasing this guy's company. I sent sooooo much proof and evidence and Amazon left the reviews up seriously damaging my company. I'm still trying to come back from it. I did cancel a few items that was FBM but I didn't have the option of cancelling at that time. I would cancel.

Hello @Seller_H1RE0fpmUe4W4

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums and for members of the community for their guidance.

I see that you have already cancelled the orders. I wanted to provide some information in case another member of the community experiences a similar concern and comes across this thread.

  • Cancellation Rate: The cancellation rate is all seller-canceled orders represented as a percentage of total orders during a given 7-day time period. Cancellation rate only applies to seller-fulfilled orders. Our policy recommends sellers to maintain a cancellation rate under 2.5% in order to sell on Amazon. A cancellation rate above 2.5% may result in deactivation of seller-fulfilled offers.
  • Amazon Buy Shipping protections: Amazon Buy Shipping shipments qualify for A-to-z and SAFE-T claims protections against "Package didn’t arrive" claims when all of the following conditions are true: [1] The buyer was reimbursed by Amazon for not receiving their package. [2] The shipping label was purchased with Amazon Buy Shipping and was a "Claims Protected" shipping service. The "Claims Protected" badge will be displayed in the Amazon Buy Shipping user interface before purchase and in the order details page Shipping label purchase section after the label is purchased. (Note: "Late Delivery Risk" labels are ineligible for protections). [3] The order was shipped on time, which will be considered at the moment of the carrier’s first scan, not when you confirm shipment.

Essentially, if a seller initiates the cancellation of an order, or if Amazon cancels the order because the seller did not ship the item, this will impact the seller's metrics. If a seller utilizes a "Claims Protected" shipping label and meets all of the requirements for claims protection, Amazon will fund the buyer reimbursement and the claim will not be counted against your order defect rate.

Ultimately, it is at the seller's discretion on how to proceed in such a case. Please note that a buyer can leave a negative feedback if the order was cancelled by the seller which can impact account metrics.

Regards,

Quincy_Amazon
