Customer admits package stolen - How to treat?

A customer has just messaged me and said their package was stolen off the porch and they have ring camera footage proof and they created a local police report. They are also demanding I send a replacement item.

What should I do here?

Regardless, you have to take the loss. How do you know it was stolen? Could just be a scammer saying that to get free stuff. Ask them to send a copy of the police report and video and see how/if they respond.

Verify with their local police or PO, rather than asking the buyer to send you anything. You can send them a replacement, but better to give a full refund and ask them, with apologies, to reorder. For best customer relations, always act as if you believe them.
