How to deal with returns for products that need to be vacuum sealed?

For foam made products (e.g mattress, sofa etc.) that are vacuum sealed and packaged in a small box, what happens when customer opened the product and then would like to return the product within 30 days of receipt of delivery but unable to vacuum seal the product themselves because they don't have the equipment to vacuum seal the product? The expanded foam made product cannot be put back into the small packaging box without vacuum sealing.

I understand that Amazon Return Policy states that

1. You may return most unused and unopened items fulfilled by Amazon AU or AmazonGlobal within 30 days of receipt of delivery for a full refund of the price you paid for the item if you change your mind, provided you comply with the conditions below.

2. all items being returned for change of mind must be returned in the same condition in which you received the item.

As per Amazon Return Policy, customers would not be allowed to return item if item cannot be returned in the same condition or opened already. Does this mean that as soon as customer opened the vacuum sealed form made product, they cannot return the product for change of mind ?

Assuming there is a defect on the product, then how do customers return defective foam made product?

I have looked up on the internet and found that Amazon US warehouse has a special handling department that can assist vacuum sealing the product if the product is deemed saleable after return.

Does Amazon AUS also have a special handling department ? What can seller do to assist with customers returning vacuum sealed form made product within customers' rights?

Much appreciated if someone could please provide their advice and share their experience and knowledge in this regard.
