Customer want s to return book - Do I have to refund the postage?

A customer wants to return a book (it was not what they expected).
I have looked at some similar posts and the information seems to conflict.
Do they have to return at their expense? (They have asked for a return label - I am a small seller have no such thing).
On receipt of the book do I have to refund just the cost of the book, book cost plus original postage cost, book cost plus original postage cost plus their return cost?
Also assuming I refund lets say book cost plus original postage cost am I likely to get a “claim” against me for their return cost?
TIA for any advice.

You refund in full including the original postage paid, [unless expedited shipping was used in which case is the difference]

Customer pays at their expense to return

If the item gets returned after more than 14 days past delivery, you are only required to refund the product price.

Otherwise, you would need to issue a full refund (excluding extra services such as Expedited or Premium delivery).

No you don’t have to refund the original postage and the customer has to pay for the return, you only have to pay all the postage if you have sent the wrong item or the item has arrived damaged.

Amazon will produce this for you when you authorise the return, The buyer will need to attach a postage label to it at their own expense.

Its all very well not paying the return postage or the original shipping - but - watch out for the negative feedback factor

“No you don’t have to refund the original postage and the customer has to pay for the return, you only have to pay all the postage if you have sent the wrong item or the item has arrived damaged.”
