Amazon trying to destroy (steal) inventory over a bogus ip complaint
One of our products received an ip complaint from a well known brand. We do purchase from an authorized distributor and they reached out to us to advise us the brand was doing this (a little late, already happened). We had over 500 units heading into Amazon which became reserved. Amazon never made these available to recall, and after a month or so, I reached out to Amazon who advised they would be available by a certain date. The date is well past, and now they are threatening to destroy the inventory. I have invoices, but something tells me they are going to reject them just so they can "destroy" 10k worth of product, which we all know means they will sell it themselves or liquidate it and pocket the money. How tf is this even legal? Amazon might be protected from legal action, but if they destroy (steal) the inventory, I'll certainly be filing a lawsuit against the brand owner for a bogus ip complaint/abusing Amazons system

Hello @Seller_OD3iIF4Tw1zZo,
Thank you for reaching out on the Forums.
From what you have shared. I see that you have received an intellectual property (IP) complaint from the brand and your inventory is currently not eligible for removal. So that I can understand and guide you the best, can you share which type of IP complaint you received? (trademark, copyright, patent, etc.) Is it a product authenticity complaint or a received IP complaint? The reason I ask is, they will have different requirements for the appeal requirements. If you are being asked to submit invoices, I suggest to check our document requirements, to make sure they match up.
Once you receive a violation for an ASIN the inventory can be put on hold until the issue is resolved. Depending on the type of violation, the inventory may not be eligible to be returned to you unless the violation has been resolved. This information can be found in the unsuitable inventory policy page.
Again, I will need to know the nature of the violation to best assist you with then next steps, please feel free to respond with more information and further questions in this thread. I look forward to learning more.
Wishing you the best,
LeviDylan
