Unassigned markets

I am an individual seller in the UK, looking to sell a book on Amazon. I have opened the account and UK bank verification is in the process. However I can see all these other European markets on there. What does this mean? Do I need to verify all of them?

I would like for people from different parts of the world to be able to buy the book, so what do I need to do to make this possible?

Thanks

Hello @Seller_sIDTuVVC2MfuI- and thanks for creating this discussion post, I am glad to hear the bank account verification process is underway.

I hope my commenting will drive some traction to the post so some other sellers also chime in, but you should be able to solely register your selling account for the UK in the beginning, and expand into the other marketplaces when you are ready!

For delivering to readers all over the world, see this page on Amazon Global Selling from the UK!

Thanks,

Danny

Your post suggests you are selling your own book through Amazon.

If you are then you are a business and should have chosen one of the Professional plans.

Amazon will catch on to this and suspend your account.

Sorry if I've interpreted your post incorrectly.

Another thing if you intend to sell overseas from an individual account you can't set your own postage rates and Amazon's postage allowance hasn't change in over 20 years. You will make a BIG loss on postage.

Also Amazon's handling of zero rated goods going into the EU, Australia & NZ is wrong. They treat zero rated goods as if they had VAT. So instead of just adding the local rate of VAT on to the price, they remove the UK VAT and then add back the local rate.

Yes, as above replies, when selling internationally there are a lot of factors to take into account. Maybe make sure you read thoroughly Amazon's eller University.

As @Seller_FQHkqHJI5SqTh says, if you are selling a book you have written, as NEW, with the intent of making profit, you MUST have an Amazon BUSINESS seller account, and be registered with HMRC as a sole-trader. The Individual seller account is ONLY for selling off your own personal second-hand items, such as books, DVDs, CDs etc.

Again, if we have misunderstood your intentions, then apologies.
