Amazon's "Switch to FBA" Sales increase Estimation Accuracy
Hi all. In Amazon's "recommendations" box, I'm being told I could increase sales 3x if I switch to FBA. Can anyone with experience switching from seller fulfilled to FBA, attest to the accuracy of this estimation, or is it just a way for them to get me to go FBA?

I don't think it's possible for Amazon (or anyone else) to accurately estimate what change YOU will see; it simply varies too much. If you have a unique item that customers are looking for, I would think that it would matter little whether or not it was FBA.
OTOH, if you are selling an item that other sellers are also selling (for example, I sell only used books), then FBA can make a huge difference in how fast an item can sell, not least because of preference in getting the BB (even if your price is higher than other offers).
The only way you are going to find out is to give it a try. Perhaps send a small amount to FBA and see how fast it sells.

I'm sure they don't factor in that almost 100% percent of the items they return to you will be damaged. That doesn't even count the customer returns

For my products 3x is about right. we sell low cost items. returns are very low but we pack items to be protected before sending in. many customers filter Prime Only so your items wouldn't even show up in search.

in my experience.. FBA no help you to sell more. FBA AMAZON only Intrest charge everthinh to sell. THEY NOt care to seller! When you want to reclaim o ask or contact directly. their team alway is copypaste link not fixt problem.

Your sales will go up due to shorter shipping times, but your return rate will go WAY up. Amazon customer service is joke. Assume any product that there is question about how it works will be returned because Amazon does nothing to answer questions or try to stop returns.
They also accept late returns, damaged returns, and items missing parts so select the items you send to FBA carefully or be willing to accept the return rate and costs.

Yes your sales will go up. But BEWARE!!! I shipped 2 boxes in 1 month apart, the items were marked delivered, received, checked in and then all of the sudden my items just disappeared out of my inventory. 73 items just gone. Amazon doesn't know where they went to and won't even investigate until I send them purchase invoices for the items. HOW IN THE HECK WILL MY INVOICE HELP YOU LOCATE ITEMS YOU HAVE ALREADY SAID WERE CHECKED IN? Yes, I have them but I didn't ask for a reimbursement, yet, so why do you need an invoice? You don't.

This is a bot email. Don't be fooled.
Moreover, FBA has issues with accountability and responsibility.
Amazon never reimburses for items that go missing in their FBA warehouses. They will give you a blank statement: "Investigation Completed–shipment contents counted and confirmed."
This is a complete lie without any credible evidence.
This could result in significant losses for you.

No doubt Amazon favors FBA for the buy box. That's why I sell most of my stuff on different sites.

Seems accurate. It was even higher than 3x for us when we still did FBM and FBA at the same time. Much more likely to trigger Prime badge owing to distribution across multiple Amazon FCs putting inventory closer to customers. Also no more dealing with USPS if you are in the U.S. which is a plus.
