A Plea to The Mods - Brand name Hijackers
I’ve seen this message on seller central US and thought it would be a good idea to combine info on here.
This message is to the mods that manage the forums. It is evident based on my own experiences, scouring these forums and the USA seller forums that there are many listings that have their brand name changed by a hijacker and cannot get resolved.
Sellers, feel free to use this post to list the various issues you’ve had with brand hijacking, how long you’ve been dealing with this issue, your case numbers, the name of the hijackers, the methods you’ve taken to attempt to resolve, and confirmation of if you are brand registered or not.
Mods, I am trying to make it as easy as possible for you to track these issues. Sellers should not be made to feel hopeless when their brands name and listing details are stolen from them. Please work with these sellers and tell us how you are going to help resolve these issues.
I will start I had my brand name changed by a hijacker over a year ago, my brand name has changed 3 times since then to random stuff. ‘Kidsnado’ ’ ‘Yoicn Lth’ to name a few, has happened to other sellers on here with the same brand names;
I have everything needed to prove (brand registered, GS1 details, Trademark, Picture with logo, website etc) but still cannot get this solved with SS/brand registry from countless phone calls and tickets.

Moderators are there to moderate the forums and is not really the correct reporting line to bring up issues of this nature. As this is a forum for sellers to help other sellers then I would suggest you contact the MD via email to address your concerns.
Just to look at the concern, are you brand registered? Brand registry will protect the brands from being hijacked but if a listing is generic or not claimed then it is open for someone to step in and claim the rights to modify and edit listings and sometimes successful in gating it to prevent changes back.
It is wrong but this was the reason why brand registry was set up in the first place.
The way seller support handles issues is a whole new thread but to be fair, most of seller support are merely call handlers who cannot subject any actions to anyone’s account other than pass it through up the line.
A case will be closed once you have gone around in circles for long enough, also any actions taken behind the scenes are not always reported back.

I see where your coming from but I disagree. If you check the last link on my original post it’s the same one as this on .com with 546 replies and mods actively trying to sort it out as it’s a widespread problem (bigger marketplace/more comp) they’ve now created a path for sellers to have this fixed. it even happens to people that are brand registered now n again.
As sellers we struggle massively to get this fixed. I’ve contacted the MD, Countless tickets with only receiving c&p responses and phone calls where they understand the problem but don’t have the know how and give up.
I don’t think getting a lot of people to email the MD is a great idea for the same problem that is known and on going. Surely creating a channel for everyone to get this sorted with not only benefit the sellers but also amazons customers and Amazon themselves. It’s scary that malicious parties can change brand names at will but us as the rightful owners of said brand hit a brick wall.
Here’s a fact that’s quite funny too I imported my listing to the usa and got my brand name changed on the same ASIN within two tickets, .com are aware of this issue UK is not.

Have you tried the excel spreadsheet upload? It’s the only thing that worked for me. Seller services /brand protection etc all worthless and a waste of time. Just download the product file, edit and upload. It feels like a gamble but actually pretty straightforward.
I suspect it is just big sellers uploading loads of asins in bulk and making typos. It seemingly robs your brand and locks it. Looks malicious but suspect it is mostly incompetence.
Good luck.

Brand registry is a joke on Amazon we are victims of this also and even when you give up and do everything by the books there is nothing stopping sellers from bombarding you with fake claims of copyright quoting DMCA every other week. Which you can easily spend weeks appealing over and over again until you narrow down just what the fake claim of copyright is about!
Brand registry is nonsense in its current form just full of people making figurative trademarks for products they do not own or ever worked with then applying for brand registry and passing the really thorough security checks which are sending a code to the email of the trademark application. Then they can do as they please with the product you invested advertising, FBA etc to get it ranked where it is.
