Account deactivated -totally confused

I received an email from Amazon.de last night to say that my account had been deactivated - as follows

Your Amazon.de seller account has been temporarily deactivated. Your offers have been removed. Credits will not be paid to you, but will remain in your account while we work with you to resolve the matter. Please send all pending orders to avoid further impact on your account.

Why is that happend?
We recently contacted you because you tried to redirect buyers to another website or sales process. Since you continue to encourage users to leave our website, you are currently not allowed to sell on Amazon.de.

Trouble is I only sell on Amazon.uk… I have no clue why this has happened. I received another email from amazon.de half an hour later to say that there had been unathorised access to my account. It seems my UK account has been deactivated too.

Spoke to someone this morning and now waiting for a call back, told I can appeal in the meantime. Can anyone please advise what I should do now? Thanks in advance,

Hello @The_Radiant_Ribbon_1,

I see that your account privileges were taken down due to redirecting the buyers to another website or sales process.

The Amazon’s Selling Policies and Seller Code of Conduct prohibit:
– Any attempt to circumvent the established Amazon sales process.
– Any attempt to diver Amazon users to another website or sales process.
– Any attempt to have buyers use a different payment method to another site.

Our Selling Partners are not allowed to include outside URLs, contact info with the purpose of taking Amazon customers off of Amazon is in violation of this policy.

I’d suggest you work on a plan of action by considering the following points:

A plan of action must contain clear and concise answers for the below questions.

  • Current violations of this policy including e-mails, image or product detail pages that might be considered prohibited seller activities and actions.
  • The actions you have taken to correct these policy violations.
  • The steps you will take to prevent diversion of transactions or site traffic in the future.

I would encourage you to review Amazon’s Selling Policies and Seller Code of Conduct at this link (https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/G1801) & Prohibited Seller Activities and Actions (https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/200386250) before you craft your appeal.

We do not know how your login details were obtained because this does not happen at Amazon. The following methods are commonly used to gain access to such data:

  • Capture keystrokes and user Internet activity using malware
  • Try out frequently used passwords
  • Sending fraudulent emails requesting to provide or update personal, financial or other account information (known as “phishing”)

To be able to access your account again, you must replace your password with a new, unique password that you will not use for any other account or website. It also makes sense to change the email address associated with your seller account to prevent unauthorized access. You should also check your Seller Central account and make sure that the following information is correct. If changes have been made to it, please correct it.

  • Settings for the email address
  • Payment Information
  • Other authorized users of the account
  • Two-step verification information
  • Information about the company, shipping and returns as well as tax information
  • Active and pending promotional codes
  • User permissions
  • Amazon dealer shop
  • Offers and comments on the condition

If the person who accessed your account without authorization accepted orders for items that you do not offer, we recommend canceling orders that have not been sent and offering refunds for orders marked as “shipped”.

For more information on protecting your account information, visit the seller central help pages: https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/34901.

Good luck for your appeal.

I see, though I am a little unsure at which issue to address. If my account had been recently hacked, no rogue listings were added, messages sent or anything changed as far as I can see. The amazon.de account remains inactive. Not sure if I need to address the currect possble hacking attempt or the hacking issue from two years ago. Thanks again for helping me try to get to the bottom of this!
