Every item you sell has a referral fee. The difference in paying a monthly fee, is that you are not charged the extra individual fee. It is only worth using the professional plan, if you are selling somewhere in the region of 35 items per month.

But I would strongly suggest, that you go review seller university asap. Understand the fee structures, as if you haven’t accounted for this, you will probably be losing money.
The fees do not stop at just a referral fee either, so this is possibly the most important thing on Amazon to understand properly.

Note that the £30 a month is not a replacement to your referral fee, it is a replacement for the individual fee which is 75p (plus vat) for each item. This option is in addition to the referral fee and any other fees
