Credit card updated but not requested it

Today I received an email from Amazon advising me that my credit card details have been updated as per my request.

I have not requested my credit card to be amended. I have checked my credit card details on my account settings and it appears that the card registered on my account is still the credit card I registered.

Anyone else had this

I think everyone got these emails. I wondered about it,but then I saw that there was another email that said that nothing had changed, they were ensuring everyone had visibility of info on each platform. I checked my account and nothing had physically changed.

I’ve just got these emails too and wondered what was going on especially as one of them said they had updated it for Sweden and I don’t sell in Sweden.

Some time ago I also changed my account settings to forbid the duplicating of my listings on to other market places, so why they would update for Sweden I have no idea. I thought I’d been hacked.

I’ve just checked my credit card settings and not only have they added Sweden they’ve also added Poland.

I think they’ve got a nerve telling us they’ve done this ‘As per your request’ as well as doing this without telling us first, and without giving us an opt out either.

Received it last night. Likewise I was confused / concerned when I read it so opened a case with Amazon asking them what was going on. Surprise, surprise I am waiting for somebody to reply :frowning:

Further to this - I’ve jsut received a very odd and concerning message.

It is a text / SMS message wiht a link in and is clearly false / fake / phisihing.

"We noticed there is no address or identity documents attached to your account. then a link that has the usual https and then “verification-account-amazon” dot com. Obviosuly I’m not posting the actual link and I’ve typed the message out exactly as received other than the way I have broken the bkink address down.

This on it’s own isn’t suspicious as these sorts of things come through all the while with the hackers trying without any success.

However, this one is right in the middle of the conversation thread of all my other genuine Amazon text messages for FBM order notifications. How the hell have they done that??

It’s (almost) definatley a scam message as my account is fine, no emails, I’ve just gone through verification a few weeks ago again (although I know you can go through several times). Also whenever I’ve gone through verification or similar previously it’s always been an account flag notice or email that alerts me to the action needed.

I’m boggled on how this has turned up within my existing Amazon SMS thread.

I wasted half an hour today on the phone to Amazon before having it confirmed that there wasn’t any problem. You would think they would have changed the language in this email that has apparently been sent to a vast number of sellers.

Me too. I paniced. Changed my password and raised a case to SS. Then i saw the notifcation was real as it was logged in SC,

Well I literally nearly had a heart attack when I got a number of emails in different languages saying they’ve changed my credit card as per my request. I mean seriously thought i had been hacked.

It wasn’t until I noticed this thread come up on my homepage that i breathed a sigh of relief

Ohh…just raised a case, now status - transferred??

I too had numbers of emails in different language this afternoon saying they’ve changed my credit card as per my request.
