VAT and GST on Jersey sales
I’ve had my first order to Jersey since they implemented the charging of 5% GST at checkout at the beginning of the month. The sale was for an item of children’s clothing, therefore zero rated. However, Amazon in their wisdom chose to remove 20% VAT before applying the 5% GST and therefore sold it at a lower than expected price. Having double checked sales to Jersey pre this change they definitely didn’t remove VAT from zero rated items. I have opened a case with SS but thought I’d ask in here in case anyone else has come across this.

Amazon do the same with orders for zero rated items going to the EU.
I no longer sell to the EU, and now Channel Islands, through Amazon.
Every other site I sell through manages it correctly.

I have also stopped selling into CI because Amazon can’t work this out properly
Not to mention they are doing it to orders under £60 which is under the current scope of CI Vat on imports

Hmmm although I knew about the VAT problem into the EU I seem to have missed that it now effects the CI. I will have to adjust my shipping templates too to now exclude CI.
