89p charge

why have I been charged 89p for each of the two (debit and credit) cards I was asked to update? I haven’t sold a book in the last 3 months and currently I have none listed.

This would be the standard 'charge' to verify your card. As far as I know they don't actually take the money, it is simply for verification purposes. Are you trying to re-verify your account so you can start selling again ?

Hello! @Seller_LdUIJiNZnrTNK

I do see that your account was previously inactive, and the credit card was going through the verification process, which is why you were charged this authorization charge as noted by @Seller_ZVAz3d5lZuGid.

See the information included in the help page: Seller credit or debit card FAQ

"4. Why do I see a small charge on my credit or debit card after I’ve added it?

When you enter a new card or assign a previously added card to a store, we may ask your financial institution to authorise a charge for a small amount. We will not actually make the charge. We will complete the authorisation process for all Amazon stores where you are registered to sell. Depending on your financial institution, the authorisation may or may not show up as a pending charge. The authorisation should disappear from your credit or debit card statement in three to five working days, subject to your financial institution’s policies.

Regards,

Roberto
