Shipping oversize items - bundled pallet max weight and how to protect oversize items during ocean transit

I've been doing the rounds with Amazon Selling Partner Support who keep on copy-pasting the same response.

I'm trying to ship oversize, semi-fragile items (each item in its own carton ready for sale, 175 x 81 x 7cm) from China to an Amazon FC in the UK. We usually transport these in wooden export boxes to protect them during ocean transit, however these are not permitted by Amazon. Amazon have said we can place these on two UK standard pallets that are bundled together.

Questions:

1. Is the max weight of two pallets bundled together (bundled for the purposes of oversized items, as per your suggestion) 500kg or 1T?

2. How can we protect the goods on the pallets during ocean transit? Our usual method of wooden export boxes is not permitted by Amazon.

Thank you very much in advance; we've been going mad here trying to get an answer

I checked our pages and found the following information regarding pallets size and weight.

Here are the specifics:

Pallet guidelines – Pallets must be non-stackable. Pallet exchange is not offered with the programme. Oversized pallets are not accepted with the program. Pallet dimensions are not allowed to exceed:

Shipments to the UK: 120 x 100 x 180 cm GMA grade B or higher or CHEP (L x W x H) and a maximum number of 26 pallets per shipment

Shipment to the EU: 120 x 80 x 180 Euro/CHEP (L x W x H) and a maximum number of 33 pallets per shipment

Maximum weight for ALL shipments: 500 kg per pallet.

You mentioned that you want to bundle 2 pallets together? Can you tell me where you found this information?

Regards, Spencer
